Our day at the Petting Farm on the 24th July was absolutely ACE!!! What a fantastic find. Anne-marie, Vincent & Grandad came with us and the whole day was just brilliant. The petting farm was called Hatton Country World and Farm and was just so impressive.It only cost £10 for each adult, but the kids get in free and there is just so much to do for kids of all ages. Annalise and Juliette were squealing with delight at every new animal they saw and new kiddie ride. They both got to ride ponies, (Vincent was asleep whilst this was happening otherwise I'm sure he'd have had a go!) they fed pigs and cows and sheep and could hold baby chicks and guinea pigs and hamsters - Annalise was a little scared but did manage it! Then they had dozens of rides on the ladybirds and teacups and a huge blow up slide. We all went in a maize 'maze' - we got a bit lost but had fun! We also went on a tractor ride around the farm. The day was just glorious, full of sunshine and laughter and then we all went home and had a BBQ in the garden.

The next day Ardha and her Mum, Anna and her granddaughter, Mia came over for an afternoon tea picnic and a 'swim' in the paddling pools Pete had set up. Annalise and Mia instantly had a love/hate relationship - one minute they were hugging and giggling and the next they were screaming blue murder at each other! Us adults didn't do much to help except to laugh!! I've never seen Annalise like that with any of her friends. It was an interesting afternoon!!
On our last Sunday we drove to Chipping Campden - a gorgeous little village in Gloucestershire. It was a perfect day again and we had a fab lunch in a great pub - we sat indoors as it was just toooooooooo sunny outside! and then after a lovely walk through the village, we had tea and cakes at Anne-maries favourite cake shop. A great day out and then Andrew and I had the luxury of going out by ourselves whilst the others babysat the girls and so we went for a Thai meal - the meal was pretty average by our standards, but it was so nice to get out by ourselves we didn't really care!
Our last few days were spent getting last minute shopping and trying to get rid of 20 kilos of luggage so we didn't get charged exorbitantly again at the airport. We ended up losing some, but just couldn't do without most things. I did leave quite a lot of the girls clothes and shoes though with Anne-marie - we were told they were dead easy to get in Jakarta so I wasn't too worried about leaving them.
We left Anne-marie, Pete, Vincent and dad at 5.30am Thursday 30th morning and drove to Heathrow. The drive was so easy at that time of the morning and we had a really smooth exit from the UK. We'd had such a lovely time all summer. It was far too short, but every minute was ace so that is all that mattered. It was sooooo lovely to see little cutie-pie Vincent and so good for the girls to spend time with him and Grandad. It was also just fabulous being with Anne-marie again.
