We caught the train up to Manchester Piccadilly and were met by Stephen who took us into Manchester city centre. We had coffee and watched a fantastic busker entertain us all with his guitar and singing skills (I've forgotten his name dammit as I wanted to see if I could download some of his music. It's something about bedtime or under the covers or something like that! Do you remember, Stephen?) and then we went and sat at an outdoor pub and waited for Lauren to come back from work early so we could go to lunch. Afterwards they took us to our hotel - The Premier Inn - Denton. (Very nice place! We had a really big family room with a double bed and two singles and the hotel had a ball house for kids and an outdoor play park!) The ball house was actually fantastic as for just 3 pounds, you could leave your kids to be looked after by the supervisors for two hours!! I couldn't believe it!
Stephen and Lauren had dinner with us that night at the hotel and then picked us up again the next day to have lunch at a beautiful pub in Hyde. Oh - isn't Lauren's car gorgeous?!! Andrew was especially in heaven as she drove him around with the top down (until it started raining which was a bummer).
The pub was beautiful and set amongst a gorgeous landscape, including a horse farm, so the girls were in their element looking at all the 'horseys'! We met Lauren's mum and Dad and brother there and then they invited us for Drinks back at their house. They are a lovely couple - Andrew seems to have the same kind of humour as Lauren's Dad....!!
Stephen later on dropped us off at the Travelodge in Manchester Airport as we had to leave the next morning at 4.30am for a flight to Greece - we were soooooo excited!!
