We invited friends over for a play date and home science fair - Andrew had set up all these fab experiements for them to enjoy. The one above is an experiment using cabbage leaf dye - it was called 'The Magic Water Experiement'.

All safe and well here - been super busy, lots of things going on at school as it's report writing time, heaps of exam invigulations (yuk) and
school plays etc etc. Lots of updating to do, and I promise I will get there.
Glad that the travel ban has gone from Bahrain now (perhaps only for the sake of the Formula 1) but things are still not back to normal so not sure why it has been lifted really - in fact, the underlying rumbles are infact doing just that - things are very bubbly just under the surface. Protests have started up again (very quickly squashed by the armies) and we were teargassed at the Dilmun club on Thursday evening which wasn't a very pleasant experience - we were at the pool and I said, ooh, there must be cats around as my eyes are itching, and then Annalise came running over from the play area with her friends crying that her nose was burning and her eyes were streaming - it was then we realised what was happening. Think the strong winds had carried it from the village next door to us.
It's so funny - that getting tear-gassed is our normal and we just carry on!
Yesterday we had a pool party for friends and just after evening prayers, the village across the street from us went into chanting action (Sounded like a very rowdy football crowd actually!) and then there was hooting and screaming/shouting and then we heard the pops of either gun fire and tear gas and then it stopped.
And after some quiet pause, we just continued drinking our wine and playing pool games with friends!
It's a very odd feeling - carrying on as normal, even though things are not normal. Or perhaps this is the new normal?
