We had a fantastic three/four days with Stephen & Lauren - so good to see them. We picked them up from the airport on Wednesday night and got take in and drank many drinks that night at home, the next day we all had school, so they had a long lie in, followed by an afternoon at the pool with Juliette whilst Annalise was at a birthday party. We went onto the Dilmun Club for drinks round the pool and then continued catching up and relaxing at home on the Thursday night.
Friday, we got all dressed up to go to the Golden Tulip hotel for the famous Friday brunches.
It started at 12 and continued till 5pm. At first, we thought there would be no way we could stay around the table for that long, but at 5:30pm when the cleaning staff were hoovering around our feet, we realised we'd been there, drinking and eating, for over 5 hours!!
It was fantastic. The food was absolutely amazing (think of something you love and it was probably there!) and it was free flow alcohol - champagne, wine, beer and cocktails. Sorted! We were a party of 15 - 9 of whom were adults and friends from St Chris - one of whom, Kim, went to uni with Lauren - how spooky is that?!! We had a great day, and there was heaps on offer to keep the kids amused - henna, face painting, balloons, a clown, a band and dance floor, chocolate fountains, swimming.
Kim took Lauren & Stephen and Andrew off afterwards to a Irish pub/club 'Fiddlers' - and they stayed out drinking shots until about 11pm when they rolled in drunk as skunks. I was sensible and came home and put kiddies to bed and relaxed in front of the TV!
