Gundogan - the area that our close friends Tony and
Aylin own property and
Aylin's family live. It is a beautiful peninsula of
Bodrum - quite wealthy as it has a very upmarket marina, full of expensive yachts. We actually found a little place in
Gundogan that we would like to buy, if the
price can come down more., We will keep you informed! We spent
a lovely
afternoon visiting
Gundogan, viewing property and then having lunch on the
corniche, whilst the girls paddled in the
gorgeous sea.
is stunning - the views are amazing from almost all areas - mountains in some areas,
turquoise sea in others. There is a rule about buildings too - only two stories allowed and
all painted either white or
stone coloured. No other colours are allowed. Tourism books describe
Bodrum houses as sugar cubes dotted on hillsides. It is so true.
WE went into
Bodrum city a couple of times - about 25 minutes away from
Gumusluk - it is a beautiful old city, full of Greek relics and remnants. The fort looked amazing but we didn't have the time to go in and look around (the kids were hot and bothered by the time we got there), but we did look around some
beautiful old markets and have lunch in an open air cafe.

Each night, after the entertainment finished (about 11pm for us) the adult disco went on till the wee hours - we would go up onto the roof
terrace and have a last drink, hot chocolate and check our emails!
