Phillip Island Koala Sanctuary

We decided to take a roadtrip SE of Melbourne to Phillip Island - an utterly beautiful island.  As soon as we checed in, we drove off to the Koala Sanctuary.  This was a rather beautiful place where we pent a good few hours walking through the natural bush, spying a whole arrray of Australian animals as well as the koalas, such as kookaburras, wallabees, kangaroos and possums! The girls squealed with delight as they spotted koalas in trees and walabees nearly nibbling at their toes.

This koala was so close to where we were stading on the tree walkway. We could have reached out and stroked it - but of course we didn't - although it was hard restraining the girls!
The girls walked through the bush imagining that they were lost and played all sorts of imaginative role playgames!
