Dr., Pool, Chatterbox, Day Recovering & More Family Arrive

Yesterday was another rather nice lazy day, spent at the pool. Oh, except for a detour to hospital to get Annalise checked out - she woke up with what must have been one hundred + little red dots circled with white all over her body.

After waiting almost two hours, she was seen by the Dr, who took one look and said that she had just been eaten alive by mosquitoes. Poor thing. They looked rather unusual, but Annalise has never really been bitten by them before - she's like Andrew who never seems to get bitten, whereas Juliette and I are always eaten and get big red swollen lumps where we have been bitten. Annalise's were completely flat. Strange.

Anyway, as the Dr said, they would take 2 to 3 days to go away. (editing this later, that turned out to be true). What the Dr. did say though, that was a bit worrying, was that Kelapa Gading, where we live, has had hundreds of cases recently of Dengue fever, so I have to make sure I am much more vigilant about covering the kids in insect repellent.

When we returned, AM, Pete and the kiddies were in the pool so we joined them, and had a fabulously relaxing day there. In the evening, we went to 'Chatter Box' which is a local restaurant/bar that serves all kinds of cuisine. It was a nice evening, although the food wasn't brilliant, but we returned home for a few nightcaps. Actually, It turned out to be a fabulous night where we all rolled into bed at 3am after solving all the problems of the world, including the usual drunken debates of religion & politics, ending up with evolution and creationism.....yes. Nice light subjects to be going to sleep thinking about!!

Saturday morning though, Andrew woke up projectile vomiting - at first we thought he was just hungover, but the vomiting carried on all day long. (edited later to add that it lasted for about 3 days, poor thing!) So the chicken he ate at dinner last night was probably not so good! He spent most of Saturday and Sunday in bed.
Stephen & Lauren arrived Saturday night - soooooo good to see them. We spent the night catching up at 'the bar' and ordered Indian home delivery. YUM!

Like Anne-marie's clan, they both managed to stay up till 10pm and then had to crash. And crash they did as they slept through till almost lunchtime the next day. Good for them!
