Another year older...

34 today.

Where IS the time going?!

Had a great past few weeks - not really doing anything amazing, but just enjoying time with friends and getting on with work.

Two weekends ago, we had a dinner party for our friends Sam & Teresa and Ernesto & Elisa and that meant also a chance for all our kids to play together all afternoon and night long.

Annalise also started going to a new ballet class last Saturday in 'The Sports Mall' which is a mall next door to school. A much better run class and she loves it. I had to buy her all the gear though - a leotard, ballet skirt, hair net, ballet shoes, tights etc etc but so worth it as she looks GORGEOUS! Will have to buy a new camera this month so I can take pics!

This past weekend, we had a lazy Friday night in watching movies and then on Saturday, girls from work (Teresa, Becky, Elisa, Kelly, Jessie and Jane) took me down the south to Chilli's for a birthday lunch which was great fun. Although, Jakarta has hit some kind of dry spot / prohibition thing at the moment concerning western imports so there was no tequila which meant no margaritas. However, we still managed to consume other fantastic cocktails so all was not lost!!

Wine & spirits are non existent at the moment (the booze shops are closed and there are none left on the shelves in the 'black hole' shops. So I am glad we are away for Christmas as I can't have a Christmas without wine or whisky! (My supplies at home are starting to get very low!)

Apparently, it is the rise in inflation or something that is stopping goods from coming in. There are, so they say, 30 containers of imports (dairy, frozen goods, alcohol) sat at the port, which the government is trying to charge 5 times the price to companies to collect and so they are just sitting there (as has been the case for the past month).

A good family friend of ours died yesterday - Captain Bill Nelson. Would have been 86/87 I think now. Sad news, but bittersweet, as he had a fabulously long and exciting life. If that could always be the case.

Rest in Peace, Captain Bill. Say hi to Mummy up there for me!
