Every year when we visit, Andrew and I always make sure we can get up and see Ron and Connie (Andrew's uncle and aunt). The company is always fantastic, the food always outstanding (Connie is Italian so you can bet the food is great!), the air is always fresh and clear and the atmosphere completely relaxing. Ron and Connie have always made an effort to visit us overseas and even came to our wedding in Dubai which was wonderful.
Annalise has always taken a shine to them too - and had an amazing recognition of Connie and Ron from a very early age. She met them when she was 10 months old and when she saw them again at 2 and a half, she ran to them saying their names, and wanting to be enveloped in a huge hug.
She (and now Juliette) get equally excited about being around them. Must be good auras ... or something!
They own a large piece of land in Gisbourne (only about an hour and a half out of Melbourne) - it is beautiful up there and we always have a great time chatting away the hours (and the chats usually do go on till the very wee hours - sometimes until the birds rise in the morning!)
The girls love it up there also and call it 'the farm' as they always get to see tractors, horses and other whatnot animals up there.
This year, Connie and Ron had a chicken that the girls excitedly helped to feed and checked for eggs both days we were there and Ron's neigbour brought his tractor over to make and collect bales of hay, which the girls and andrew watched for ages.
They even petted Ron's collie dog - they've been too scared in tge past but managed to stroke him this year so their fear is getting better!
Tina and David spent the day up there with us which was great and then we stayed over night.
