St Kilda Pony Rides

Posted by Picasa
Ok! How amazing is this? Every Sunday on the beachfront park at St Kilda, a couple of guys come with three beautiful Shetland ponies and for 7 dollars, you can just take the pony away with your kid sitting astride them, for a stroll around the park. No guide or trainer. Just you, the pony and your child! fabulous!
Annalise sat on a black and white pony named 'Patch'. Juliette had a brown 'Tommy' and Steffie had a pale grey/white 'Mickey'. The girls were squealing with delight throughout.
After this, with Gwen, Fiona and Gary, we went for a long walk along the beachfront, stopping to look at the fish and the hundreds of dead jelly fish (what is going on?) and then we had an impromptu, very windy lunch where the girls ran and chased all the seagulls and pigeons that surrounded the hills. Juliette was desperate to grab one, but couldn't understand why they would all fly away as soon as she came a-charging, arms outstretched squealing 'Come on Birdies!'.
