We had a brilliant weekend away! We left early Saturday morning and returned late Sunday evening. It was only about 1hr 30 mins away but my goodness, it was beautiful and we really felt like we were on some exotic far away land!! Not sure if the photos do it justice - the views were spectacular.
The hotel was surrounded by gorgeous lakes, three volcanoes and rice paddies everywhere.
The rooms cost 40 US dollars a night, which is quite expensive for here, but was well worth it. the pool had a great pool bar and we went bamboo rafting and hiking and even played tennis so to keep up with all our friends who are fitness freaks. They were running and biking etc early mornings but they are really cool people who enjoy drinking and lounging around with the best of them! Andrew had a ball getting back into tennis again - and he played really well so he's dead keen to get back into it! I played Sunday morning and am still suffering from pulled muscles, but it was exhilarating!
There were so many things we could have done there - electrolyte flying, white water rafting, ATV (4 wheeled buggy) driving, flying fox, golfing, etc, but we kept things gentle as we needed to spend quality time with the girls. We went with about 8 other couples from work.
A fabulous weekend.
Definitely a place to go when visitors come!
