We moved hotels the next day up to Peurto Polensa - and spent the whole of that day at the pool, meeting new friends and sipping cold beer and wine. The hotel put on entertainment each night so this night we were happy watching the girls dance in the kids' disco, and then watching a Magic show. Annalise and I took part in the bingo and I won 90 Euros!!! Can you believe it?! I bought 5 euros worth of cards and made 85 euros profit! Yay for me!!
The next day we had to get up early as we had decided to go on a boat trip around the island with our friends. What a superb day out...although, Andrew was deathly hungover and we're not quite sure whether him throwing up overboard was a result of the hangover or seasickness. There were about 9 others on the boat who were being sick too, so....
The boat took us through absolutely glorious waves around some beautiful scenery sand we could jump off the boat and swim in the deep (the girls were too scared to, and Andrew was too sick too, so I had a little go by myself!)
However, by lunchtime, he was feeling a bit better and luckily so, as we all got a chance to do some deep sea fishing which he loves, and he taught the girls how to put the bait on the hooks (Juliette kept calling it bacon for some reason) and hold onto the rods to wait for a catch. Annalise got very good at reeling in the line, although we didn't catch any fish, only a few snags, seaweed and other people's lines!!
The next day (our last day) we spent an absolutely wonderful time catching up with our old friend, Angus McCormick, (above - a photo I stole from his facebook!) who has lived in Spain these past 11 years since we last saw him. He hasn't changed one iota....in fact, he looks younger! He was just the same guy we knew all those years ago....always one to make you feel important and cherished. We had a gorgeous lunch with him in a Spanish taverna and then walked along the marina to see some of the Ports' history.
Our last night was spent with our Taipei friends, watching an acrobat show at our hotel, playing Bingo (I won again - 50 Euros this time, lucky me!!!!!) and enjoying each others' company before we left the following morning.
Unfortunately it was at this show that our camera went missing.....dammit!
Our Ryan Air flight was a little stressful coming back to the UK the next day, due to delays, but we got back safely and feeling relaxed and 'sunned up' and so lucky that we have wonderful friends in this world. All over the world.
We are truly blessed.
