Theatre, Pubs and a LOT of wine!

On 11th August, Anne-marie and I had a girly day out together in London. We caught a morning train down to Euston, then went on the underground to Piccadilly where we had to pick up our Les Miserables tickets. The train is amazingly fast - only 50 minutes from Coventry to central London - brilliant! And as we'd booked it a month in advance, only cost us 7 pounds each way! Once we had our secured tickets in our hands, we went to a nearby Japanese restaurant for a great lunch and then went to the theatre. Can you believe it, but we had FRONT ROW SEATS!!!!! we both went to Les Mis 17 years ago with Mummy, and it had a cast of about 150/200 and was in the MASSIVE Palace theatre in the West End. But this play had a cast of only 20 and was in a smaller, more compact theatre (The Queen's Theatre) and it was JUST as spectacular. WE had a wonderful time - some of the singing and acting was absolutely fantastic - especially Jean Val Jean and Javere's roles.
We cried and laughed alongside the action and were truly blessed that we had such good seats! In fact, I don't think we could have done any better. 17 years ago, we were right up in the Gods and had to use binoculars to view the show. Not this time!! If I reached out, I could have probably touched the actors!!
After the show, we went to Covent Garden for drinks and a look around the market. Followed by dinner at a Mexican restaurant, (and a jug of Margaritas to share!) and then more drinks at a pub before we had to catch our train home.
A great day out. So nice to share such a wonderful day out with my big sis!

We also had a great family day out at the Farmhouse pub the Sunday afterwards, as the sun was shining brightly and we were hungry for a roast dinner that we didn't have to cook! The pub also has an outdoor little play area for the kids so it's a great place to go for some relaxation! (For the adults!)
