Dr Death...or something close to...

Andrew has had a rough week.
I am finding it rather funny, but as far as second week of teaching goes, he has had a very rough one.
On Sunday, a little Year 7 girl (Imogen, in my form), managed to somehow, during a practical Science lesson, get a speck of copper sulphate in her eye. Ouchy.
Andrew did the right thing, immediately washed it out and then sent her to the nurse for a proper eye bath.
Imogen was fine, but Andrew had to fill out an incident report and met with his HOD to explain etc. No problems there though, although Andrew wished it hadn't happened in his probation period!
Then, Tuesday comes along and a year 9 girl, Lucy, manages to knock over a bottle of acid on the table and the liquid touched her arm. And it hurt.
Andrew, once again, did the right thing and soaked her arm, before sending her to the nurse for proper treatment. Lucy is fine, no burns, no scars, but how unfortunate.
And so the incident report is filled out once again and explanations explained. All is fine - accidents will happen. Andrew followed protocol. Breathe a sigh of relief. Let's hope that is it for a while.
Then, Wednesday comes along. Andrew is teaching reproduction to a year 11 GCSE class. He has just shown a picture of the inside of a testicle and then shows a diagram of the vagina. Joel, a lovely kid (I teach him Drama, and he is a bit of a 'lad', in with the girls etc) says to Andrew that he doesn't feel well - he is completely green and Andrew asks him if he needs some fresh air. Joel says yes, and leaves the room, before half collapsing on the floor. He doesn't faint, but is very green around the gills. Apparently the diagrams made him feel super dizzy and queasy. (!)
So, Joel goes off to the nurse.
A third incident report filled out.
A third explanation.
A third 'not to worry, you did everything right' from the HOD.
Andrew feels like he never wants to do a practical lesson again. 3 times in 3 days is just too much.
Then today comes along.
Thursday. A year 13 class. (17/18 year olds).
He is dissecting hearts with them.
One lad, is dead keen and enthusiastic and 'right in there' fascinated by carrying out the dissection.
Andrew turns to help another group and then hears a thump, smack, screams by the girls.
The lad who was very enthusiastic about 'getting in there' has apparently, become dizzy, collapsed, knocking his head on the table and has passed out/fainted on the floor.
Andrew races over, checks his vitals, puts him in the recovery position, sends for another teacher, the HOD and the nurse and once again, does everything right, but can't help worrying that this really doesn't look good on him.
The boy is revived and sent home.
Andrew is on damage control the rest of the lesson as the kids are pretty shook up, and worried about the boy. Andrew does his best to soothe their angst.
Andrew fills out yet another incident report, the HOD winks at him and says all is fine - he has yet again done everything right.
Andrew has vowed that all classes next week will be theory. What could go wrong with that, hey?
I'll update next week if there are any more 'incidents'.
Poor Andrew.
That has got to be it, surely?!
But it is rather funny....don't ya think? Just a little bit?!
