Naughty Night Out

So, my girlfriends and I decided it would be lovely to have another girlie night out. We try to do it once a month and leave the kids with the Dads so we can have an evening of sanity! We also try to go to a different place each month, and so far they've all been really wonderful evenings.
So, last night we decided to go to 'Carnegies' - which has a bit of a reputation of being the local expat pick up joint (well, expat men for local women) - and it has an infamous dancing on the bar license - anyone at anytime they fancy it, can climb on up and boogie on down. So, we decided for Sharon's sake, as she'd never been and she's leaving for good next month, that we would brave the crowds and go. Besides - it was a Wednesday night - it'd probably be really quiet.

Wrong!

Well, actually, it was quiet at first. After sharing a taxi, Zoe, Sharon, Julie and I got there about 7.30pm and had a really nice table, away from the smoke and DJ etc and started the night off sipping gorgie cocktails and then we moved onto wine. (Yes - diet was blown again). The food was fantastic, and we didn't discuss kids - we talked about us and histories and our lives - was such a great evening! Don't think I've laughed so hard for such a long time.
Well, at about 10.30, we decided it was time to make a move - but when we stood up and moved towards the door, we realised the place had become PACKED! And it was FULL of men!!! Was it Gay Night? we thought? Nup! We were informed by the staff at the entrance that it was 'Ladies night' and would we like champagne? In fact - as many glasses as we liked as it was free all night long!
Could you refuse that offer? Free champagne?!!!
So, of course, we decided we couldn't go when there was free champers and so thought it'd be fun to people watch and have a dance and most especially to witness the crazy people wiggling their tushes ontop of the bar! We managed, I reckon, to down at least 4/5 glasses of champagne before we realised it was half midnight!!!

That was when I thought - Oh dear. Andrew.

And yup - as I got out of the taxi at 1am, having giggled most of the journey home whilst each gal was dropped off at their places (I live the furthest away) and turned the key hesitantly in the lock, Andrew was battling with two screaming kids who hadn't gone to sleep yet. Oh dear. Andrew just looked daggers at me and went to bed.

Oops!
